To all Veteran's, past and present, I think you for your service and to those that made the ultimate sacrifice, I remember you.

As a Veteran, this is a special day for us, so remember your comrades, your family and try to share some stories with them today so they can try to understand what it means.

We enjoy many of the freedoms today because of the sacrifices made before.

Remember 11/11/11 at the 11th hour today, take a moment and pause.

Thanks to everyone for their service.

Lt Col (R) U.S.A.F

p.s. This isn't BBQ, but I'm allowed

Why is Veteran's Day today? If you didn't know:

quote:
Veterans Day, formerly Armistice Day, is an annual United States holiday honoring military veterans. It is a federal holiday that is observed on November 11. It is coincides with other holidays such as Armistice Day or Remembrance Day, which are celebrated in other parts of the world and also mark the anniversary of the signing of the Armistice that ended World War I. (Major hostilities of World War I were formally ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918 with the German signing of the Armistice.)
