Just purchased a new FEC 300. My biggest concern is that I'm going from a relatively simple process of charcoal and wood chips to pellets and electronics. My concern with that is being disabled and not being able to cook due to a broken or defective part. What issues have others had and are there spare parts that I should purchase and have available incase of a break down so I could be prepared for such a insadense.

Great question for Bill & Tony @ Cookshack Service! Let us know what they suggest.

I have an FEC 100 and the only spare part I have is an extra shear pin for the auger. It's pricey ($20) but if it saves the motor, it's money well spent. I didn't want to chance it with a cheaper substitute. You can get by without an ignitor (use alcohol hand gel/match or a blow torch).
