I sure enjoy reading the comments of the pro here. I have not noticed too many comments on Cookshack's rubs and sauces. Like many of you I'm always looking to enhance the products I serve. I use straight Cattleman's for mild which I tweek for hot and sweet. People here in Montana seem to like their sauce this way but I'm always looking for something simple and better. Famous Dave's is coming to town soon so I'm reviewing my recipes. If any of you use Cookshack regularly in business please share you and your customer's comments. I know I could order some, and probably will, but would sure like some feedback.

A lot of companies us it, but many won't say what they're using (they like it to be a mystery) but believe me when I say I see a lot of sauce shipped out of CS.

I believe they also private label their stuff if needed.

Key isn't what other people, but what flavor profiles you like. Also what the competitors are using. Lot of restaurants use Cattleman's because it used to only be sold to restaurants.

Just call CS, get a small assortment and see if you like it.
Famous who is coming to town? Never heard of him.

It's interesting listening to stories about Dave and how and when he got his start, told to me by an old 80 something year old BBQer here in Minnesota. He still calls him Diamond Dave.

I was going to post about the CS salsa but realized it's actually Head Country, also from the same town as CS. It's really good. They call it mild, but up here in the north we call it hot.
I use CS sauce for my mild and then add to it for my spicy, my customers love it, I have people that regulary buy from a qt size to gal to take home. I use CS rubs for all my meats except brisket. didn't care for the brisket rub, I have my own rub that I use for the brisket. They will put your private label on I think it is a 16 or 24 ournce bottle, have thought about doing this but it is a little pricy
I truly do appreciate the posts by you guys & gals which I read most every night. Yesterday I received my CS starter pack. Really pleased with the chicken and rib rubs. Have not tried the chili mix. I was somewhat disappointed with the spicy bbq sauce. For me it was just too tomato sauce flavored. I had hoped to be able to purchase bottled sauce with my lable for resale. I will probably pass on that at least for the time being. I have not tried the bbq sauce mix. I would appreciate hearing from anyone who may have used the sauce mix in a manner other than as directed on the jar. Thanks again for your input.
