I've gotta say this is a GREAT forum! I have learned a ton here, including that Cookshack is my next purchase. I have also learned why women have us wrapped around there fingers so well- we are too predictable. I have been through the same stages as just about everyone- ECB, offset, and really styling, got a Char-broil electric (bullet-type) that puts out good product, just too many shortcomings. Done my time lurking Red Face , really enjoyed the chats, and waiting for MainelyDave to post some new stories- great stuff, Dave! Saw some posts about Cabela's and West Coast BBQ(?), both good and bad. Seem to be places for about $100.00 less to buy than factory- any positive or negative info on that? Still good customer service from Cookshack? If they are still getting there sales, seems they shouldn't mind. Input would be great. Looking forward to my purchase, hope to make a detailed photojournal of it, have liked reading those!

Regards,
Kurt

I bought mine from Cookshack. They sent a buy confirmation with a tracking number so I could follow it's progress from the factory to my door. A weld was broken on one of the racks. They promptly sent another set. Someone on here mentioned that the resellers order from Cookshack after they get your money which could delay shipping. If you're not in a hurry Cookshack has a Father's Day sale in June. Make sure when you compare prices that you are receiving everything Cookshack includes in their price. I've never had a problem ordering from Cabela's but, I have heard horror stories concerning other resellers.
Cabela's has proven to be an excellent supplier and works with the Cookshack company on multiple projects.

Folks here seem to have been satisfied with their purchase from Cabela's and the same great support from Cookshack.

Cabela's does maintain an inventory of the cookers at their stores.

Be sure to check availability and shipping times, before you make your decision.

Just my $0.02 Wink
If you are not going to pick it up at the store itself, like a Cabela's, I would recommend ordering it through Cookshack itself. Just because you know you are going to get it shipped to you in a timely fashion. However, if you decide not to, Cookshack will still provide awesome customer service no matter where you buy it. I ordered mine through another company and had a problem with it right away, cookshack had the problem resolved that day for me.
I actually have a friend across the highway that is an independent dealer and never knew it until I was at his house looking at guns one evening. He is also a gun dealer. He told me all about it and also all about this forum that night. He brought me some ribs and pulled pork abut a week later that were the best I ever tasted. I was sold on the spot. He sold me a Smokette and all the accessories including stand and cover as a package. I got a good deal. 3 years ago. Been happy and fat ever since.

Cool
I just bought a SM008 yesterday. I spoke with CookShack twice. I finally bought from The West Coast Store. It was about 10% cheaper. The lady at Cookshack said that West Coast was reputable. She said that Cookshack sells at full retail and others are often cheaper. Cookshack does that on purpose since the retailers have to pay for advertising and other expenses.

Well, West Coast sent my order to Cookshack yesterday and Cookshack shipped it today. I should be smokin this weekend...
