I agree with Shackman Donna. You are building a quality unit. Why spoil it with something 80-90% of us have trouble with not working correctly or not working at all. Someone suggested giving a coupon with each unit for a digital thermometer/probe. For what it's worth, I believe that's the way to go. This is all assuming that the "probe" is for checking internal temp of meat. If you are talking about the temp inside the unit itself, well that may be a whole nother story.

Have a great weekend! Big Grin
Donna,
I have to agree with what the others are saying, I have bought my temperature devices and had my share of problems with them. My opinion is you as a manufacturer are "asking for it" if you begin to use the probes and thremometers as a built in feature since you in effect would be expanding your warranty liability. I would recommend that you supply a seperate device for such measurement that the warranty issue would fall on the device maker rather than Cookshack.... just my opinon not trying to ruffle any feathers...
I use 1 or 2 probes (a Polder and a Nu-temp remote) when doing pork butts and briskets.

I find them invaluable, but, sometimes worry about their accuracy.

If your intention for this question was to consider putting a probe in a new model, I would certainly like to see a "computer grade" or commercial grade probe (like a BBQ Guru probe) as an addition. Perhaps with an option to read at the unit &/or remotely.
