Something jarred my thermostat knob loose last weekend. Naturally, I didn't have a little bitty screwdriver to get it back on there correctly. Took it apart last night and the metal "arm" that makes the connection is bent. I straightened it up somewhat and put it all back together.

I have no clue what temperature is where anymore.
Really just cooking by what shows up on the display.

Any ideas on how to get back to where it should be?

Thanks

I don't believe my controller or the digital readout. This weekend at Molalla the digital controller did not like the inverter and went flashing and would not function. Went back to the controller with little green led and it worked. I leave a thermo-3 digital readout device with armored probe inside the FE with the probe hanging by the FE fixed probe. Exact realtime temps this way and I know the FE is nowhere even close to actual temps in the pit.
It's the knob. When I arrived at Sapulpa on Friday, set up everything and plugged the FE in, it was dead. It was about 3 and thank goodness Tony was there at Cookshack. Once we got our definitions of parts & pieces straight, it wasn't so hard to get it back working. At least enough to cook with. Of course, the first time the automatic starter wouldn't work. Pulled all the pellets out of the fire pot, adjusted the errant knob a bit and tried again. And there was smoke & then fire.

Duck, you have a fine setup with your thermometers. Congratulations on Molalla!
