I am thinking about buying a CS Smokette in the near future. The reason being I bought a Traeger last June I am not very happy with the results.
Before the Traeger I would cook on my Weber and use wood chunks for smoke flavor. This worked well and had plenty of flavor.
The Traeger however produces hardly any smoke flavor in the food at all. I can tell no difference between the different pellets, let alone taste any smoke flavor.

I can get more smoke flavor using my weber for 20 minutes than the Traeger on 225 for 3 hours. Confused

So my question is for those of you familiar with Traeger grills and CS products -
Will the CS Smokette give me more smoke flavor than my Traeger?

Thanks,
Craig

I have both a smokette II and an FE-100 (pellet based unit). The FE-100 produces less smoke, but can be put into a smoke mode to give more smoke. The smokette II is the only cooker that I have had to watch how much wood I put in. It will provide a very, very intense smoke flavor. I also have 2 big green eggs and can not get that much smoke flavor.

If you want a lot of smoke (that you can control) go with the smokette II.
Smokingman is right. It's really easy to get too much smoke on the smokette. I have both a Treager and a Smokette (and an Offset--think I need the WSM to round out my patio!) As he mentions, the can be very intense, even moreso than the offset.

The smokette is excellent for Butts and Briskets, but I never have done ribs in it that are good as those done in the offset or traeger.
