kinsman,
here is the latest on delievery from trailer tech.
spoke to alex friday.
he assured me that my trailer would be ready for pick up no later than august 20th.
said the 45k rig got them backed up and they were working thru the backlog.
i will say this alex has always returned my calls so i still feel comfortable but we are going to enter the fla bbq assoc event labor day weekend so i will go to 1st contest with zero practice.
sure hope ocala bill and the dixie chicks are there since i know they will give me straight answers if something goes wrong. oh and my brinkman bullet is going too Big Grin .

you never have advised me of your shipping date but i hope it will hold for you.
so far our dates have been Razzer
7/10
7/16
7/31
8/5
8/20.
just keeping you posted

PrisonChef,
I got an email from Alex saying they were at least two weeks behind. By the look of your list of dates I would say two weeks is a conservative answer.

Glad to hear you got the health dep't approval though.....I hope I don't have to many problems.

So, does Big Al have your FE and Cookshack? Man, it would be nice to be able to cook a case (or two) of butts or ribs all at once.

Thanks for the update.

Chris
kinsman,
yep he has both my sm150 and my fec100 Frowner . so while cookshack shipped on time i still dont get to play with them but i did take advantage of donna's code for a 10% discount on pellets and ordered 2 bags shipped to me. if you order before aug 1 and use code LUVPLTS you get the discount.
knowing alex i just bet that he will get back on schedule pretty fast so here's hoping thatn he can hold the 2 weeks for you. at least he never did duck any of my phone calls and always called me back and that i think is why we are still comfortable with trailer tech
jack
ps thanks on the approval congrats it sure was fun and cant wait for the physical inspect for final approval
but at least they sent a copy of the 3 or is it 4 page check off so if we dont pass i only have me to blame Razzer
Kinsman,
Recieved a phone call Wednesday from Greg Kormendi who is the owner of Trailer-Tech. He was very apologetic about the delays and offered us some concessions without our having to ask for them. While he would like to promise us a delivery of August 31 they are being held up by the hood manufacturer and yes it is for that 45k rig. if you have visited his plant they have 4 building bays so while I don't like the delays I still feel like they are honest people and are trying their best especially in view of his concessions as way of saying they were sorry.
jack
kinsman and bob,
here is the latest to keep you all posted
one of the concessions we got is the owner will be calling us 8/25 with a status report.
we have got our fingers crossed that the 31st will be the shipping date
thanks so much for supporting peggy and me through all this
and thanks cookshack for providing a forum where so much information can be exchanged
jac
Thanks, Chris.

Status report was "Your trailer is coming along nicely." That was on the answering machine.

I tried calling Greg but got the answering machine there.

I'll call him during business hours tomorrow.

Are you just starting out, too, Chris, or is this an addition to your business?

I've been catering, vending and dreaming of my own place for years.

Knowing that there is -what- a 90% failure rate in restaurants, I'm reluctant to expose myself and my family to that kind of odds.

The trailer seems to be a good next step. I can go to events -fairs, rodeos, motocross, races, horse auctions, whatever- or even just set up in a good spot on the highway if I want. I will be fully self-contained, and no overhead, which seems to be a killer for a lot of people.

I spoke to Alex Yesterday and he gave me a chiseled-in-sandstone date of Sep. 6th; I'm supposed to talk to him on the 3rd for a date to be finalized.

I'm getting excited for you guys too. Keep us all posted!
chris and bob
talked to alex the 26th (he called me)
build date is 3 days not counting the weekend
this puts completion at the 31st.
hopefully with the hurricane coming (and since i am holding final payment until it is parked and levelled in space 30 lol) they will deliver the 1st or 2nd.
based from my dates chris the dates you got should hold.
thanks both of you for all the encouragement
jack
here's the latest
owner greg called me at 9 today.
they are hoping for thursday as completion date
deleivery guys apparently drive at night so maybe early friday delievery if all goes well.
i still think they are an honest company and this thread is just to let people know what i have learned.
lol and i have learned that a cat 4 hurricane makes things go faster in florida Big Grin
i hope that all the people from florida and the carolinas stay safe and secure and with luck this will do a floyd for us all

based on todays conversation your times should hold. latest hurricane path forecast has it coming on land way north of the plant but way near us lol. we are going to the fla bbq assoc meeting in clairmont which is in the middle of the state so just a lot of wind and rain if it comes in near daytona. my 2 greyhounds will be at the vets kennel which is all block masonry so they should be fine and my old wood frame house was built in 1895 by a fisherman and his wife who rolled cigars so dont really see a problem there. and the trailer will be in the good hands of allstate although they farmed the commercial insurance out to tapco which is the danish arm of llyods of london. man gets complicated don't it??
your friend
jack
Chris,
The trailer tech folks are not going to deliver our trailer in the middle of a hurricane. It's better for them to have possession than for us to have it. I got the insurance all set up. We'll have Allstate for commercial and TAPCO for liability.

Cuban cigars will not be sailing overhead as the hurricane is passing north of Cuba. But if a Tampa cigar flies by, I'll grab it for you!

Peggy
Okay, everyone, pop the cork!!! SHE'S HERE!!!! Yes, we got the trailer, today! I met her at the storage place, went over her with Greg from TrailerTech, hoped I remembered everything, and she's beautiful to me! We'll post pictures. We'll take them tomorrow, hopefully Hurricane Ivan will go elsewhere. Too many storms too close together!
Peggy
