A few nights ago we had my wife's family over for a bbq dinner. Her cousin and her BF are eating my Q, and the BF is really raving about how good my cue was. He was a former butcher. And, I would have guessed that he was about 65 - 70 years old.

Well he goes on and on about the Q to the point that it was kind of creepy and embarassing. But I could tell he really did like it as he ate 3 hefty sandwiches.

So, the guy looks at my wife's cousin and says I want to buy a smoker. She says "no way", not a chance..... and this goes on for like two minutes.

She walks away and he asks me more about my 008. I tell him what he wants to know.

About 10 minutes later I see him in my computer room, which is right off the kitchen. I'm a little angry becuse I see him on the internet without asking me.

So I walk over and say " What are you doing?" He just reaches for my printer and hands me a sheet of paper. He says, "I'm 78 years old and if I want a smoker, I'm getting a smoker ".

I look down at the paper. It is an invoice for an 008! Big Grin

I wasn't angry anymore!!!

Actually he didn't tell in front of us, so I don't know. He just put the invoice in a bag that had all the leftover Q. I must have given him 3 pounds of leftovers. And I haven't heard from the cousin. If she calls and says anything interesting, I'll let you know. All I know is that I wasn't going to bring it up after dinner!
A friend of ours & his wife visited us this past weekend and joined us (and 12 others) for dinner. She is a vegetarian (has been for the last 10 years or so) and knowing she was coming, I prepared for her. We were also having an 8lb butt & some leftover brisket I sliced thin for sandwiches. I was playing host and tending to guests needs & tables & such and I saw her eating. She had a plate full of pork & brisket. I asked her if the vegan fare I made wasnt acceptable and her reply was "Damn you Bob!" Seems as tho she really does like meat or at least my Q made in a CS. I have sent home with her husband some canadian bacon, sausage, smoked turkey, etc and after smelling it being warmed up by her husband, well, she isnt a vegan anymore.

Ah, the unrealized power of my 008!
