My FE100 arrived a few days ago, just in time to Q-up some briskets for the holiday weekend. Chomping at the bit - make that the point.

I have been looking all over town for some good packers, and didn't find any. Then it dawned on me to call a friend who owns a restaurant. A few minutes later his meat sales guy calls me and said he'd have some angus choice packers over tomorrow.

Hopefully some good news to report in a few days!

Get to be a real good buddy to that meat sales rep. That could be invaluable. Make sure you take him something at some point.

Well, they're finished [belch], and they came out perfecto!

I was bracing myself for something sub-par, but they were far from that. Now I know I can't be objective, but the one we ate tonight was awesome. Sorry, but in my haste to serve and eat it, I forgot to take some pics. Sounds like a good reason to smoke another one up soon. BTW, the meat guy delivered some very nice examples of packers, and at a good price.
