I've been searching and reading and learning, but every time i find a thread about trailer setups the links to the pictures are broken. Does anyone have current links to pictures of your trailers? I'm collecting ideas.

Also, for those who use the ramp of you trailer as a cooking platform, I have two questions...

1. Did you have to upgrade the ramp door on the trailer to be able to support the weight of the cooker(s) and people?

2. Most of the competitions around here give you a 20 x 20 space. If I have a 16 x 12 trailer with a typical ramp door it is just over 20 feet total length. Have you had problems with fitting your trailer into a typical competition space?

Thanks!

Ron,
We are just completing ours and ill look for or take some pictures for you. We got a pace journeyman that is upgraded a bit and the ramp is rated for 2000 lbs. no problem with a couple of jack stands to hold it up. email me at yachtturner at aol and i will try to send some pics.
Thanks
Chris

Sorry, but some of the links were broken when CS moved the servers. I'll see if I can get some reloaded.

You need to find out the load capacity of the ramp. The Manufacturer should tell you. Mine is a 16' designed for cars so it's fine for 2 FE's

I put the nose of my trailer on the front of the space and there's plenty of room in the back. In VERY few contests have I run into a problem of them trying to be Space Police and not let me overhang a little. If they don't assign spaces before you get there, you'll learn quickly how to position the trailer, which spot to pick, etc. You just have to do it several times.

Just don't get late to a contest. trying to put a large trailer, in a 20' spot with both contestants on both sides already set up and encroaching on your space is so much FUN... NOT Big Grin

Thanks!
Ron, I will find a couple pics of my H&H 6x12 using the ramp for the FEC-100, and post them for you. I use an EZ-Up over the back of the ramp for weather protection, and I usually try to get a 25' deep spot. 4' tongue + 12' box + 9' EZ-Up = 25'. I overlap the EZ-up over the back of the trailer by about one foot. The ramp on the H&H does not have any issues with the load. I am also using four scissors jacks on the ramp to level it.

Later,
Scott
