I've tried to read every word in the forum in the recent days. Also smoked up my new CS model 50 and the several year old smokette every day for for nearly two weeks. Made great progress, mostly because of the good advice here. I've been using mostly hickory, I live in TN, with some mesquite on beef. Just got some apple and cherry wood and will beginning experimenting this weekend.

One thing that I've only seen a slight discussion about is adding herbs or other flavorings in the firebox to "enhance?" the flavor of the smoke.

I would appreciate any comments, suggestions or experience with flavoring the smoke.
