Of the two, I'd choose the FE over the Amerique if you're comparing those two only. Why? higher temps and more wood used for fuel instead of electricity.

Just try to decide on what the use will be, how much meat you'll be cooking and what type. You're just going to have to take the plunge.

You can overthink this too far and each of the smokers has advantages / disadvantages over the others.
S.O.
Would you elaborate on your comments. More wood vs electricty.. Electricty is cheaper than wood

What are the advantages / disadvantages of each.

I'm planning on selling my 008 to get a AQue.. but your comments have me wondering.

Essetially, I see the AQue as a big 008 with additional bells/whistles. I "picture" the FEC as a "pellet stove".

Be my Guru and learn me sumptin. Heck, I may sway to a FEC...
Sure.

It's not a fuel issue. It will cost more to run an Pellet Stove, but you will have to buy pellets.

It's just different "style". 100% wood for fuel and humidity being the two differences:

The source of the heat being 100% wood gives a slightly different result. More smoke. But you can do the same in the electrics because they are more efficient with fuel/smoke as well as you can load as many ounces to suit your smoke taste.

The FE has a 5" exhaust and thus I think the Electric CS are a better / moisture cooker while you'll get a more drier heat similar to an offset. I replicate that in my CS Electric's by opening the door and letting moisture out. I just add time.

That what you wanted?

Seems like whatever we buy, it eventually becomes too small. With that in mind, I'd suggest considering the largest smoker you can afford.

The discussion above throws in a new consideration beyond the physical capacity of the smoker -- pellets versus electrons. I'll defer to the more senior members of the forum on that issue. Good luck!

Good luck
