I would like to see a forum just for the Amerique. Since they have several differences compaired to the other cookers I thought it might help current and future owners of the Amerique find help and advice quicker. Just a thought.

One tip, is to learn to use the search function. With the 'advance' tab, you can easily search on Amerique and other tags to get AQ specific info.
It was actually discussed, but because the AQ is electric even though it has electronic controls, the elements are the same as the others, a lot of the questions are pretty common, certainly wood and smoking technique are the same. Being the same, then you would have info in one forum, that applies to the other, and become more fragmented.
Plus we've had requests for a bunch of new forums, so it's hard to just keep adding and adding, more for the moderator to do
But it's on the "wish list" and will be discussed should there be a redesign in the future.

I don't think that would be a good idea. Spreading out the userbase makes for slower responses and a less helpful board.

I agree with Lantern. Besides, I don't wanna be left out just because I can't see a need to pay $1500 for a smoker that will hold at a set temp. I think the advice I get and give applies to either/or.
I have an Amerique and do not think that it should have a separate fourm.

To tag onto Smokin's thoughts,much of the discussion is about cooking -not just operating a piece of mechanical equipment.
Many folks that have cooked awhile,can apply the info to most any type of equipment.
Many folks that know mechanical steps of operating equipment,never learn to cook.

I agree with Bembring, I also now have an Amerique (after giving-up my charcoal water smoker)and don't feel a separate forum is necessary. If you have a Amerique specific question, just note it as such when you start the Topic and the Amerique users will respond to it. Have fun with your Amerique & enjoy what it easily produces!!
I agree with all!! I too have an AmeriQue and do not feel a separate forum is the the way to go. Any specific AmeriQue questions or problems will be directed to AQ owners and users.

Thanks to all who replied. I was most likley to fast out of the gate on my request. I see now that the advance search is where I need to look for any Amerique info. Newbies....( me ).. go figure.
