Amerique LCD display fades?

The first thing I'd do is call cookshack service,as they don't monitor this forum.

Yes ,bright sunlight/heat,can have an effect on some displays.

It affects all our remotes,so we shield them.

I had mine intermittently miss some segments of the display - made it hard to see if it was a 5 or a 2 (for instance). It was like this from day 1.

Got in touch with the supplier (in Australia, where I'm from) and they changed the part, no questions asked.

Couldn't complain about the service!

LCD like that sometimes are susceptible to direct sunlight, could be the angle / amount of light hitting that window. I'm sure CS will make it right for you.

LCD displays will all fade out or turn black when exposed to direct sunlight and heat. When cooled, they usually return to normal operation. Just take a piece of cardboard or piece of wood and shade the display while in the direct sun.If that fixes the problem,you probably don,t need to fix anything. Good Luck!
