My Amerique had problems with the probe shorting out unless I pulled the probe plug part way out. I could not just plug it in and rely on it to work properly. On one cook, it read 40 degrees too low and caused me to over cook a pork butt roast. I called Cookshack and they sent me a new jack for the probe connection. When I removed the back of the Amerique, I found the braided ground wire at the jack was shorting to the tip of the probe plug whenever plugged in. I moved the wire aside and problem solved. Cookshack staff was very helpful when called!!

Halfway through my second probe cook the display was reading 'no probe.' I jiggled the wires at the back of the plug and it started reading again. Called cookshack and they asked for my name and address so that they could mail me a new probe, didn't even bother with proof of purchase and such.
BTW, my first probe cook, the temperature registered was perfectly in agreement with my thermapen.
I'm having all the same problems but Customer Support has been Johnny on the spot about trying to get the issue resolved. They sent me a new probe and jack this past week (which I installed) and I had the same problems when I went to put two small butt's on this morning. Guess I will be calling again in the morning.

It's easier when you have good customer service thats for sure but still frustrating when you have to start working on it anytime you want to cook. I'll give mine another week and or it's up for sale.
