Actually a pretty common question and maybe one of the newer owners out there will give you some of their tips for new users.

My recommendation:

Go to the Archives section on the main page, and review all the threads in the owner section.

There are a lot of general questions that will cover. You'll probably have some questions, so a review first is my recommendation.

Then figure out what you're going to smoke and after you season it, go for it.

Sorry I have been out of the office for a few days. Had to watch my son's robotics team compete in First Robotics National Tournament... Any way don't worry about the woodbox, all model 50's come with the new design.

The amount of information in these forum pages is astounding. Basically going to go section by section and peruse, read, and re-read. I'll probably season with a chicken and then "go for it" with a butt this weekend. Done a few on my big charcoal grill and the results have been pretty impressive for an Ohio boy. Thursday(delivery day) can't get here fast enough. Thanks for the help...so far. I'm SURE I'll be asking a few more questions in the not too distant future. Once again, Thanks.
