Fast Eddy, Smokin' Okie, Mrs. Smokin', Karen (home smoker sales) and I will be cooking at the 17th Annual Great Pork BarbeQlossal in Des Moines, Iowa, June 10 - 12, 2004.

Eddy arrives on 6/10, with the rest of us following the next day.

Ed's rig, which is now 67' long, contains a built in FE2000 and is a sight to see. Karen will be on hand with lots of sauce, spices, Smokettes, and even an FE100 for you to see up close.

If you are in the area we would love to see you! People bringing us beer are especially welcome. In any case it's BYOB.

Donna, who is looking forward to a great time in Iowa! Don't miss it.

Son Paul and I will be coming down Thurs PM 6-10. We dropped the hogs off for butchering last Fri. We are using one of Jumpin Jim's rigs because our new FE 2000 is still being built. As a former state director for the MN Pork Producers I've been to many WPX since our first one in Springfield IL in 1987. We went to look at hog equiptment and watch hog judging in the swine barn, and to BS with friends. We received the award of Pork All American at a banquet at Indianapolis in 1994 where I saw my first Brinkmann Smokin Pit which I promptly bought as soon as we got back home. Gradually I found myself spending more time with the bbq part of the Expo. We met Coach Jim Sposato and started hanging around him learng to Q and less time with my farming friends [I bought Coach's Kingfisher from him in 1999]. Look us up, I'll be the talkative one [I don't get off the farm much] drinking Miller Lite, smoking cheap cigars, and Paul will be the big, good looking, take charge kid. We are entered as Prairie Pride Farm of Minnesota.
