Brisket and wood

I've used hickory with apple and had great success. Try 2 oz hickory with 1 oz apple or vice-versa.

However if your aunt prefers things a bit less smokey, don't see why all apple wouldn't work just fine.

I use apple about as often as hickory.

I have never used mesquit!
