i just had to replace one of my tires.
it looked like it was feathering and had numerous flats spots coming up.
the other 3 tires look just like new and tire pressures on all 4 was correct at 65psi cold. bearings and electric brake functioning as it should.
i was just wondering if anyone else had had a similar problem with this brand of tire.
if you can give me your favorite brand to use i sure would appreciate it as this is our 1st trailer.
thanks for the help

Hi Jack. This is my first post but I'm a long time lurker. We had trouble with Carlisle tires on our competition/travel trailer a couple of years ago. Twice while traveling through Iowa, we had flat tires. And then on our way to the Jack Daniel's cookoff we had a flat 30 minutes outside of Nashville that we stopped for and changed. And then in the middle of Nashville we had another flat. We had no more spares at that point. And this time some major damage was done to the trailer. We were able to limp into Nashville and found a tire store off the next exit about five miles from where we had the flat. At this point we had all the tires on the trailer replaced with something other than Carlisle. We filed a claim with the tire manufacturer and we received payment to cover the cost of one tire and all the damage to the trailer. I would not recommend Carlisle tires but it seems to be a popular tire for trailers.

By the way, I've enjoyed following your bbq story. We're into our tenth year of competing and our third year as bbq restaurant owners.

Good luck with the tires and on the bbq trail.

lindasue,
thanks so much for taking the time to reply. the tire problem was the oddest thing that i have seen since 1969 when i put a set of firestone wide oval tires on my 55 chevy. matter of fact after the tire was off (yes i kept the old one, guess it is just a guy thing) and i started looking at it it sure reminded me of that stinking firestone.
i am glad that carlisle reimbursed you for your damages. i guess my next move is to do an internet search to see how to contact them as this tire only has about 3500 miles on it. in a way we are lucky that doing the farmers market is only a 60 mile round trip tow but the florida state championships are coming up in october and for us that is a 3 hour tow.
i will be sure to tell peg that you have followed our posts and like them. it really makes newcomers like us (5 comps and 9 months operating a bbq rig) happy and we think we are on the right track but i got a funny feeling in 9 more months that will change Razzer
again thanks for the help and i am kinda proud that your 1st post was to me and peg Big Grin
jack
ps. if i can ever help you just ask
