Here are the results to the Claremore OK KCBS cookoff this weekend. Big congrats to Pellet Envy (assuming he was cooking on his FEs) for GC and to our own Smokin Okie for 6th overall and first place on Pork. If I am missing any other pellet munchers, please speak up.

No, Rod was cooking on his Geer.

I'll have to go over the list, quite a few pellet munchers. Q Joint got their first in brisket on Stuart's borrowed FE300. Potentially Hazardous got a first in dessert (don't think Carol and Merl cooked the dessert, but they use an FE).

Butcher has an FE.

Great news was this was our first first in pork. Last 6 contests, we've had almost all in the top 3... hmmm. I think I love our pork right now. Funny thing, walking away from the awards, someone came up to me (on that top ten list) and said, "I'm make sure to watch when you turn in and not hit that table. THAT made me feel great.

Same story, new category. We love this contest, got 6th this year, 3rd last year. Chicken killed us (three weeks in a row) Need a new rub. Well the recipe that got us a 1st this year is history (anyone want it, let me know). I'm going back to my recipe for chicken that's won for me for years, now why DID I change.

Brisket's first call this year it was a problem and I worked it hard.

Man, I get 3 categories, but not 4....aaaaarrrrgggghhhh Big Grin

Sounds to me like Smokin' is spending too much time with work Wink

After a couple outings, to be that close to all the categories,sounds like hitting a better table is the right strategy.

Of course, the fact that at least 3 of the top 5 teams could make a bunch of lists for top team in the country-when they hit the tables. Eeker
