The first thing I smoked was a batch of wings yesterday. I did put foil in the bottom.... but I did not cover the smoker box... so I had a bunch of hard baked drippings. I left it there....
Last night I put a shoulder in and this time put a piece of foil over the box.
So do I leave that crust alone... or scrape it off? Probably doesn't matter.
I'm lovin this smokin machine!
