The peeling part will be your creosote buildup.

A plastic windshield scraper will remove what needs to be removed.

A little windex and a rag should cleanup around the vent hole.

I don't think they recommend much water hosing of the interior,especially around the heat element and temp probe.

You can run the side racks and cooking racks through the dishwasher.

I used to use the smokette about like a commercial cooker.

Annually,I'd take it out in the yard and scrape the heavy buildup from the walls.

Spray the inside with Greased Lightning or Simple Green and let set a few minutes.

Hose it out and wipe out with paper towels.

Go over the hinges,latch,etc with light machine oil.

If it is the black paint,I might do a little touchup where needed.

This removes some of the seasoning from the interior,but it is back after a couple of cooks.
