After nearly 2 months and a bunch of smokes I noticed some build up on the probe inside my AQ (not the meat probe but the internal probe). I read in another thread how some of you out there clean it so while I was tidying up my work area, I spritzed some Simple Green on a paper towel and cleaned the probe. I noticed that during today's smoke the AQ seemed to reach temp much more quickly!!

I guess I'll add that to my list of things to keep an eye on? The rest of the smoker is getting a nice black coating but I'll keep that probe clean. Smiler

Did that same thread say that if you don't clean the top hole...things get ugly in the winter or when your smoking almonds?

I clean both at the same "service job", but hey I'm pretty proud of that black stuff thats all over my walls of the smoker, so needless to say it stays to be shown off by me!
