Clearance to House

Just got a 020 and want to move it to a final position on my patio. The wife has allowed me to place it under the patio cover in a corner. The location would allow for 5" clearance on the left side to the house and a non-operable window and 8" to the rear. I have wood siding on my home. Am I okay to place it there or is there concerns?

Hi never had problem with my 020 my smoker sits 4 from back of siding smoked many times little heat from bottom back not to hot should be fine

there is NO issue of clearance with the electric CS. They don't generate enough heat to warrant any. The more important issue is smoke. It WILL stick to the walls of the house depending on air circulation near the smoker, so don't put it near a painted surface or you'll need to paint eventually.

Hm, hadn't thought about that. I was going to use the unit on one of my back decks near the house. Guess I'll have to push it out to the center of the deck now. Glad that deck is too high for the bears to get to.

One thing I have figured out is that you don't want it too close to where the laundry room is located. The birdboards let the smoke in and make the hanging laundry smell like BBQ. Now, my favorite perfume is BBQ, but I don't think everyone feels that way!
