My understanding is that the Cold Smoke kit is "discouraged" for the Smokette, because of the small size of the Smokette.

The baffle serves as a "heat sink" preventing the area above the baffle from getting too hot. I understand that it fits okay and some have used it in a Smokette, but the main issue is not to let the heat build up below the baffle, makes bad things happen.

Maybe someone will check in that's used it for the Smokette, I haven't.

Smokin'
I got a coldsmoke-kit for my Smokette last week and used it to make cold-smoked salmon with the recipe that was attached to the kit.

The lox that came out was DELICIOUS. Big Grin

I took some pictures, but can not post them at this time because my computer has been down for about 10 days. I'm using a friend's laptop and can't download pictures with it. I'm waiting for a new Dell to show up- it's delayed for some reason.

Anyhow, the unit seems to work fine in the Smokette- and they caution you not to run the heat element for more than 20 minutes (for any CS cooker?). Stuart posted some time ago that the kit could be used in the Smokette. I'm going to try some other salmon recipes, and will be looking for good ones?
