Hi gang... I'm new here... I'm in the process of trying to convine my wife that our deck won't be complete without a Smokette... I have an old bullet water smoker (wedding gift 20+ years ago) as well as a weber gas grill. Since converting to the gas grill from a kettle a few years ago, I haven't really used the water smoker much. I've done some "smoking" on the weber grill, but its not that same, so I've decided to get a Smokette. I've been reading the posts here and done some web searching, and I found the following site...

http://www.comfortchannel.com/prod.itml/icOid/4032

They have a combo that includes the Smokette (original or stainless), the cart, and a few accessories for what looks like a good price. I'm wondering if anyone has bought from them or haqs any feedback on them. Also, any other sites that I should look at for the Smokette?

Thanks!

Me too.. best price by far I've seen. I bought mine from Cabela's and never looked back. I'll have to keep this in mind if I decide to do a 2nd one rather than going for one larger unit.

This combined with your Weber will be awesome for putting the final crispies on chicken skin if that's your preference.
man that is a good deal.
i finally got to see a smokette at a bbq store that just opened up near us and they wanted 500 just for it!!!
the website you gave even gives their business address so maybe if you are nervous (like i am) you could call the better business bureau in bozeman and see what they say.
but the price is great
and keep your bullet like willy says

Whoa,

Work your way around that site and you'll find the price of a Smokette by itself and then you can add the accessories you want. If you do that the price of the standard unit, with everything included in the combo, would be in excess of $1000. Whoever put the details to the site obviously screwed up on the price of the combo. No way is a person going to get all that for that price. "When things look to good to be true...YADA YADA YADA"

Happy Trails
Thanks for the replies, everyone... I have checked them out with the BBB and there are no complaints on file, so that;s good. I also surfed the site, adding up the pieces, and was also sceptical. I've been traveling all wekk, but I should have time to call them tomorrow to verify the price and what's included. I'll post back on what I find...

They don't state which model it is.. but, it probably goes without saying it's the Smokette 008. That's the one I have and would love to have another.. but, I'll be saving for a good grill for Christmas to go along with my smoker.

Now, if anyone knows where to get a great deal on a high ended Weber.. I'd be indebted..
Hello everyone. Hope you all had a good thanksgiving!!!

I just got off the phone with a gal from Comfort Channel, zearth.com and she's going to check out the price on the combo package for the smokette they're selling. The price is pretty incredible, with all the accessories included.
She should be e-mailing me back later tonight, and I'll let you know. I've been holding off for a bit on my order until after the new year, but if this package is correct, I'll be buying my smokette online tonight!!

Steve
they just went and changed the price online? that package aint worth that amount, I dont think. just get the smokette from the cookshack site, with the extras you actually want or need. it comes with the small box of wood, some rub and sauce, and a cookbook, I think. don't need anything else at the start....

Hi Donna...

Actually, maybe I'm the one who is missing something...

The combo on Zearth.com includes...

Smokette (008 or 009, I'm looking for the 009)
Cart
Cover for Smokette and cart
Cold Smoke Baffle
Seafood Grill
Stainless Chili Grill
Jerky Rods

On the Cookshack web site, the pricing is...

Smokette 008 plus Cart - $584.20
Cover - $55.32
Cold Smoke Baffle - $45.95
Seafood Grill - $14.25
Stainless Chili Grill - $24.95
Jerky Rods - $13.05

Total - $737.72

Its close to your number, but not $664.67, or did I miss a deal somewhere? Its still a good deal, especially compares to $950, but hey, the extra $70 can buy a few briskets!

What's the price for the 009? Is there s stainless cart?

Buying with Cookshack

Ron, I called them on the phone also, and in about 10 minutes time the price was changed online. they offered me the 10$ off too.

I've been on the web as much as anyone possibly can have been checking out different smokers, and prices. Also, into the ability to ship to Taiwan. I called Cookshack on the phone last night. Spoke with Terri Gordon in the office. Actually, we've been corresponding by E-mail for a while now. She has been fantastic and very professional to deal with. Prompt, and does or checks what she says she will.
I confirmed with her last night on the phone that I'll be ordering the model 50 with Cookshack, hopefully it will be shipped out to Taiwan next week.
All I can say is I feel very comfortable going with Cookshack. The people on this forum are incredibly helpful and I can't say thanks enough for all the information, advice, and help!!!! the atmosphere on the forum is like being part of a family it seems.
I know that in the future, just being a part of this forum, will make every dollar spent on a Cookshack well worth it!!

That's my GUT feeling.
Steve in Taiwan.
Hi Guys... Thanks for the replies... Steve, I hope your Model 50 makes it to Taiwan fairly quickly!

Based on this forum and the responses from the folks at Cookshack, I've pretty much decided to order from them. I;m just trying to figure out the price difference between what Donna mentioned in her post and the prices I am seeing on the web site. Either way, the cookshack price for the Smokette, cart and accessories that I want is less than any other site I've found, especially once you consider shipping into the total.

Now its time for the hard part... How does this sound for a conversation starter...

"Honey... Don't you think that a smoker would look great next to the Weber?"

Without going back and adding it all up again, I will say that I am really terrible at arithmetic and I probably added wrong. If anyone needs confirmation at this point, tell me and I will get someone in the office to double check it.
