Afternoon folks, need some more opinions on cleanup...I am looking at the 300 and the Fast Eddie's, I imagine the FEC is the quicker to clean, but what about racks, can you pop them into a nice commercial dishwasher and have them done simple, or is it more labor intensive? Need my options before I hand Cookshack my money. Thanks.

man i would love to have a commercial dishwasher!!!!
to give you an idea of how long it takes manually here goes
take out all the foil bout 5 mins
wash grease pan bout 3 mins
scrub all 4 racks after cooking 18 hours bout 20 mins
clean grease drain bout 5 mins with a bottle brush
vacuum hopper and firepot bout 3 mins
clean interior bout 10 mins
we do this everytime the fec is used
hope this helps

But will they come clean in a commercial washer? I'm wondering, too. The racks sometimes we soak in degreaser solution before scrubbing. I have noticed if you take them out while warm and blast them real hard with good pressure, they clean up a lot easier. I don't know a lot about the commercial washers. Can you get good pressure on them?

Tip: Buy a cheap preassure washer and go to Sam's and get Pro-FOrce de-greaser. Spray the racks and rack holders with the de-greaser and let sit for 5 min and use the preassure washer-it works. ANy good de-greaser like super clean or Greased Lightning will work. The Pro-Force is best.
If you can't buy the preasure washer---use the car wash.
BTW.... we don't have a washing machine either.

Hope this helps!

i have been cleaning exhaust hoods and filters in rest. for several yrs. also deep fryers, but what i use is a cammercial floor striper.this works a lot better than anything i have ever tried. ck. at a janitorial supply store for it.
cut it 1 to 3 parts water and go from there.

Idaho,

Which FE are you looking at? If you're looking at the 300 CS then I'm guessing maybe an FE 2000?

If so, the racks won't fit in a Commercial Washer, they're too long. I didn't see the dimensions of the racks in the CS site, so you might call and ask them how their other owners are cleaning the racks, for the 300 and the FE.

I'm not sure what has changed since the Fast Eddy/ CookShack merger what i found on his old site for the FE2000 was that it had 15- 12" x 60" racks. I found it from the homepage when I clicked on pelletheads link and then on the last link at the bottom of that page called Fast Eddy by CookShack

or just click here
