Am brand new to this used in excellent condition CS 150. I have owned a Fast Eddy 100 and like it very much. But am not familar with the CS...even Eddy says it is a fine unit and I should consider keeping it which came with my recently purchased concession trailer from TX. So I split and chunked up some hickory and hit the rib and start buttons. It took quite a long time to realize it was heating and no smoke for a while then wal la there is was smoking that beautiful light gray smoke that we like to see. However the cook time had dropped a lot of its time by the time it got up to cooking temp of about 230F. So do I preheat without wood or what?
Also noticed some smoke coming from around the top of the door. Just some light whispers but fairly consistent. Thought maybe if I clean the door and cabinet surface this may help. Was surprised there was no rubber seal! The door closed light is on all the time. I assume this is the sensor adjustment and does nothing more than control the light merely for a warning.
I do have the manual and recall a bit of the sensor adjustment but don't remember anything about preheating...I might mention that the manual is an hour north of me with much other stuff that I need to get soon but at the moment I need to get this business open asap! I'm running outa money!
This like a really neat machine and I think I'll enjoy using it...ah another thought...I wonder if anyone has tried wood pellets as fuel? It sure could be handy for me with the other pellet smoker and a ton of pellets on the way. Also it would be wonderful to measure out the pellets in a measuring cup for total accuracy and most important consistancy!
Thanks people!
