I recently received my CS 008. Before purchasing this appliance I did a lot of homework looking for the best oven. I will say I am quite impressed with the quality of my purchase. I do have one question about the drip pan. I do not see anywhere on the bottom side of the oven to attach the drip pan. This may not be a problem when the wind is calm. However, these aluminum pans will take off in the wind with the slightest breeze. Am I missing something? Is there some way to secure the drip pan from blowing around?

Funny how it works out in the adaptation department.

I either put a couple rocks in my aluminum pan or, if I have the foil pans that are a little too deep, I sort of scrunch them down on one side and cram them in there. Either way works for me.

I have chased them down the drive a time or two though.

just a suggestion for the future production of the 08 models.fabricate the sliders that are built into the model 50 , include the heavier gauge pan, problem solved! can't be that much more in price to build it. add that amount to the price. i've smoked in on very windy days never a problem. i bet a phone to cookshack would take care of that, for future purchasers anyway. i guess if your handy with a soder torch and some bendable medal they can be made. larry
