While cooking 2, 7 pound boneless butts at 250, power to my smokette was interrupted. It had cooked for approx 3 hours and unit was off for 9 hours. When I checked the meat this morning, internal temp was 70 degrees. I have no idea what the temp was when unit shut off, but 3 hours at 250 should have brought it up to over 100. Is the meat now garbage or can I resume the cook.

Man, I'm kinda of nut about food safety. When in doubt...throw it out. Butts are easy enough to replace, but not worth getting sick over.

It's the internal temp of 70 that worries me more than the rest, even getting over 100 isn't enough, it's that full danger zone goes up to 140.
