Other than price, whats the primary difference between the new elite and essential series of cookshack smokers? Visually they look the same.

It appears meat probe.
Where does the meat probe connect? Can it be disconnected for cleaning and possible replacement?
The meat probe plugs into the side of the controller and goes through the top vent. The plug on the controller has a nice little flip up cover. The probe is replaceable.
also---the elite has an all stainless steel outside and the essential has a black powder coated exterior....
is there an ability to add a probe to the essential series?
I'd suggest you call CS sales with the question,as they don't monitor these forums.

i just used a cooking thermometer from our local 'Target' store ($10) and ran the wire down the smoke hole on top = works great!! i plan to go back and get a remote one so i can monitor even while watching NASCAR.
