seems the fec 100(or at least mine) only holds a steady temp until the door is opened, that's fine for one meat one time, but I was hoping to use this in competitions, put on a meat , pull a meat, doesn't appear that is going to work, anyone else frustrated with once the door is opened all bets off with temperature consistency, maybe a stop auguer switch would be nice

Turn the dial down to 180 when you open the door, it turns the cycle to a set auger speed (and doesn't try to blast you trying to keep up with temp)

When you open then turn up the temp back to what you want.

Good news this is a no cost solution.

You'll still lose temp when you open the door, can't help that.
