So, I'm still thinking I want to get a FEC 100 with the IQ4, but one feature I'd like to know more about is the temperature control. I've looked around on line quite a bit for answers but don't see an answer to this:

Can I set the system to slowly increase in temp? How "programmable" is this - can I start at 180, then go to 225 for 2 hours, the 300 for 1 hour - as a sequence?

Thank you for reviewing this.

Cheers,
Steve

The IQ4 has the versitility of cooking at one temp for a specific amount of time and then changing, either up or down, for an additional amount of time. You are able to do through using the Hold feature in the IQ4. And I do this quite often myself.

For example, when we cook brisket, we set a temp for the first 6-8 hours of cooking and then ask the controller to go into "Hold" mode but at a higher temp.

But to bring a third temp into the process would require you to make that change manually.

Hope this helps.
It is not programmable. The "presets" come from the factory.

John is explaining the only "option" of setting for one temp for a defined time, then holding at a 2nd temp.

That's about it.

It really doesn' take much to change it but the rest of the changes would be manually done.
