FEC100 not feeding pellets

Mine stopped feeding once, and I found that the pellets had a piece of steel in the feed tube. Locked up the unit.

I emptied the hopper and got all the dust out of it and I can watch it turn freely, just 2 rotations then stops. I have since unplugged it to see if a hard reset will do the trick.

I had the same problem a couple of years ago. There is a reset button but if it is turning a couple of times and stopping resetting probably won't fix it. I had to order a new auger system that I think ran about $120. Call cookshack and they can walk you thru on how to check it or get you a new auger. oh and mine quit on Thanksgiving about an hour after the turkey was in the smoker. made for an interesting change of plans.

Best bet, call Bill or Tony @ Cookshack. They'll diagnose the issue and offer a resolution.

I unplugged it and waited about 15 min and plugged it back in and it worked fine. Maybe it needs to be on a surge protector

I'd call Cookshack for peace of mind.

Give CS a call. It could be the power coming to the unit or it could be something else going bad. They'll walk you through it.

The surge protector isn't going to do anything but prevent big spikes, it's not going to clean up any power problems you might have.

I've never checked mine, cause I always put a handful of pellets in the pot when I fire it up. I think the auger will only run a few turns at the start and after a little while it will then start working? It's part of the startup process, so it don't smother the fire at the beginning.
