First contest is behind me. It was both fast and fun except for getting no sleep (I have to work on that). I made all my turn in times with plenty of time to spare. There were 65 teams there with many of the teams I recognized from the Pit Master show (Seems like they had a cook that was flooded out so they came to this local cook). The Cook Shack FEC100 was great and I would have hated to do what I did using another type of cooker and it would have been imposable for me to do it with a stick burner. I was lucky enough to get a walk at my first show against this level of competition. I got a 5th in chicken and ended up 33rd overall. It was the brisket that killed me. I'm counting the days until we hit the road again. I am hooked.
