Generator and 009

Have a 1,000 watt generator and I am thinking of taking my CS 009 out for some tailgating/smoking. Any experts here on whether a 1,000 watt generator will carry enough juice to power the 009?

The conversion Watts = Amps x Volts. So the 009 is 4.2 amps, 120v Single Phase, 500w heating element. 4.2amps x 120 volts = 504watts. It should work just fine. Just give it a practice run.

Just didn't want to take a chance on damaging my smoker...the generator I can lose, just not the smoker (grin).
