i don't know if this will help much but here goes.
people are always talking to us about how quite the honda is. during these conversations the 2 names that keep coming up are generac and onan.
from a year of these kinds of conversations the gist of what i am hearing is this.
on the generac they seem to malfunction a lot.
on the onan it is a noise issue more than anything.
like i said this is just from people talking to us but we get talked to enough that peggy has considered putting the hondas in a tent and charging a buck to see them.
on the flip side you have to consider that in our case we would only hear the bad parts.
maybe you could email kinsman ad ask.
he is good people and i am sure he would give you all his info

but i will say this the hondas have sold us a lot of bbq. after talking most people at least buy a sandwich

If you need auxilary power for your home or business to keep the freezers or furnaces or the milking machine in the barn going, buy a cheap, loud generator.

I have 3 generators and each has it's place.

My 45,000 watt Katolight will run everything on the farm. It's powered by a 90 hp John Deere tractor.

My 6,500 watt Coleman/Honda 13 hp I bought because it was cheap. I can't use it around people because it is to loud. I would guess a Generac is comparable db.

My EU3000 Honda is the one to buy. Spend a little extra and go with it. Buy 2 if need to. They hold their value.

Remember, every 10 db is double the noise.60db is twice as loud as 50; 70 db is 4X as loud as 50 db, etc.

We've only used the Hondas because they were recommended to us as quiet and dependable. We got that information on this forum. We've used them for a year and only had a problem with one of them we used during a driving rain when we forgot to pLace a cover over the intake side. Jack can tell you how he solved that.
