"GET SMOKIN'---Award-winning Smoker Oven Recipes" is how Jessica's Biscuit, an online book seller, is billing Cook Shack's book. Tried to buy it but they were temporarily out of stock.

I never knew about this book. Is it new? I am wondering why the general public would buy it if they didn't own a Cook Shack smoker oven.

Can anyone enlighten me, pls?

Nick,

I picked up Get Smokin at a major bookstore recently (Borders maybe?). I'd recommend it, particularly if you're looking to expand your horizons and be more creative. It covers a wide range of dishes and styles, which I like. I have to admit, I never would have thought of smoking with dried pineapple skins had I not read this book. I think it's useful to anyone interested in smoked foods, not just CS owners. Converting the instructions to other cooking methods (pit barbecue, etc) doesn't present that much of a challenge.

Regards,
Joe
You know, if 'ole Smokin' here was paranoid (who said that?) I might wonder about the title of this book. Wink

You "might" check out the recipe section in the Cookshack website for some ideas. "hint, hint".

Yes, I believe they are updating the book and the "get smokin" is the same as the Cookshack Vol 1 you can get from CS, but with a different cover.

FYI the times and temps in this OLD version are not up to what we've discussed in this forum, for example, smoking brisket at 180. Frowner
As Smokin' said, Get Smokin' was orginally Cookshack Cookbook Vol. 1. It is a collection of recipes from our employees, customers and anyone who wanted to enter our recipe contests.
We are currently working on a second cookbook. Don't have an estimated release date yet. Will let everyone know when we get closer.
By the way, the publisher came up with the name "Get Smokin" and it was before we even knew Smokin' Okie...
