I smoked a 12 pound brisket for Mother's day. My wife put her baked beans into a pan and I set the pan in the rack below the brisket rack. Smoked both the brisket and the beans for 19 hours. The brisket was great. I use a good amount of brown sugar as base for my homemade brisket rub. As the brisket drippings landed in the beans, they were kept moist. The beans were AMAZING!!! Tasted like candy. Smoked using 6oz Cherry. I find the ladies in my family prefer the mild cherry wood smoke flavor to the more traditional Hickory smoke.
