Hi Tom!

Yes I do! I grow them and then dry in my little jerky maker. After totally dried, I then grind in a coffee grinder. You can dry in an oven as well or even on a gas grill. I keep the temp around 200.

I usually laugh at the folks who say, "be sure to wear gloves when working with peppers" However, in this case, you BETTER wear a respirator and goggles AND clear the house!!

The first year I did this, I told my wife to just take me out back and shoot me!! The stuff gets in the air and your eyes and nostrils, mouth etc. I damn near choked to death first, then damn near bled to death from my eyes and then tried to rip my nose off...just for some comfort! LOL

Great stuff and will last forever. I never seed mine either! The problem with trying to de-seed is, you end up taking out most of the membrane, and we all know THAT is where the heat is, NOT the seeds.

Give it a try, a great way to preserve these little guys.

Thanks,guys.....I usually buy the powder, but since I'm here in Florida they grow like weeds....I have been growing them and assorted other peppers here year round,so I have a costant source.....Stogie , I learned way back to work outside with a box fan set up to blow away fumes while I work on them....Even though I have a commercial range hood that pulls about 2300 cfm ,I invested in a single burner hotplate to use outside when I am cooking them....It also didn't take but one experience of running the scraps down the garbage disposal. LOL. Wink
