I have had a SM025 going on over 2 years. I've never had an issue with it. Yesterday fired it up to 225 and put in a couple of loin backs. Left the house for a couple of hours and got home to notice no real hint of smoke (the wood was just black). Used about 3 oz of hickory. I've had the wood in the garage in a cardboard box for a couple years (it was a BIG box) and have never had a problem with great smoke. I fired it up to 300 today with about 3 chunks and let it run for several hours. got a good smoke going early but on my return the chunks are just black and not the bits of gray ashes that are normally left. Anyone have a clue? The kids want smoked chicken wings tomorrow!!
