Blonde moments.......and yes, I am a blonde.....

Today was the day that I have been waiting and waiting on...not waiting for just the delivery, but I have been looking for a long time at smokers, and as you all know...well, for the most part anyway, I went ahead and ordered the fec 100 to start out on. I do have a question though, I am not generating heat with it.....I did the turn on, wait 10, and then turn off, back on.....etc...etc....and it is just not building heat......am I missing something?

Thanks sooooooooooo much!!

Rob,

Congrats on your choice. It will be a great cooker for you. You made an excellent choice for your first cooker, but it's going to spoil you.

There are only a couple reasons that you would not be generating any heat. It's either not igniting, which means you are building up a pile of pellets in the burn pot (easy to check and see) or the auger is not moving pellets into the burn pot (also easy to check). If you're not getting pellets, either there is a jamb or the auger is not turning. I've not inspected one of the FEC units closely, but on my older FE's, there is a small fan that spins with the auger is moving. It is situated directly under the hopper and is visible through a hole down low on the end of the hopper/motor housing. Either way, Cookshack has fabulous service. Call them tomorrow. They can help.
