AFTER A YEAR OF RESEARCHING SMOKERS I DECIDED ON THE SMOKESHACK MODEL 50.
I GOT MY NEW SMOKER "MODEL 50" ON 12/26/04 FROM BBQ GALORE. WHEN I GOT HOME I WENT TO SEASON IT PER THE DIRECTIONS. TWO HOURS INTO THE SEASONING THE BREAKER TRIPPED AND WOULD NOT STAY ON AS LONG AS THE SMOKER WAS PLUGGED IN. WITH A LITTLE INVESTIGATING I DISCOVERED THAT THE HEAT ELEMENT ON THE LEFT SIDE HAD GROUNDED OUT AND BURNED A HOLE CLEAR THROUGH THE NUT THAT HOLDS THE ELEMENT IN PLACE.
HAS ANY BODY OUT THERE EVER HEARD OF THIS HAPPENING?
THE UP SIDE TO THIS IS THAT I TOOK THE BACK PANEL OFF THE SMOKER AND CAN SEE THAT IT SHOULD BE AN EASY FIX, NO DAMAGE TO ANYTHING OTHER THEN THE ELEMENT.
I SPOKE TO THE FOLKS AT COOKSHACK, WHO WERE VERY UNDERSTANDING THEY ARE SENDING ME A NEW ELEMENT ASAP.
I AM NOT DISCOURAGED OR UPSET YET, BUT I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO SMOKING SOME TRI-TIP OR RIBS.
