Jack I know you've been looking for the post, here it is:
Greyhound Rig Pics

Prairie.

There's two methods. One, Jack's is a professional system that will SOLVE the problem and is the best solution. You'll draw enough smoke.

The challenge may be installation, cost, weight, power???

In my comp rig I really want to mount both my smokers, but to put in a full vent hood is more than I want to add, for now.

It's easy enough to vent the vent outside with tubing, the challenge is, like you said the smoke that comes from opening the door.

Don't forget to cover the floor, grease/food will drip and fall there also.

My cheap solution was to create a postive airflow. I have a fan blowing and the back open enough to blow the smoke out. Not a solution for rainy days or cold days, but it works.

Let us know what you do and send photos.

Good luck.

Russ
Thanks guys for the pictures and the info. Your setup jack is wonderful. Also thinking about a powered roof vent above the fe's for the smoke you get from opening the doors. Russ, did you vent your FE's directly through the wall of the trailer or through the roof? What kind of pipe fittings did you use?

Dave
I put them at the back and attach 5" pipe that I got at Home Depot. Attach and point them out the back (I just pop open the ramp a little and stick the vents out). It's just a quick temporary. MOST of the time at contests, I just open the back completely up, push the FE's on back on leave them on the ramp (which I've leveled and put over some jacks). I'll post a photo. I then use Movers Blanker I installed across the back. Got the idea from Candy Sue.

Jack's uses some of the flexible tubing, he can tell us about that. It's a temporary fix as I can't leave the FE's that far back in the trailer.

There are some other's here with permanent mounting I'll see if I can find the pics. I think I've seen side and top.

My "preference" is to mount both of them over the wheels (for load issues and no jackknifing) and them vent them out through the roof. You will get condensation from the smoke and it will stain, that's why I'd hide it there. You'll still need to clean it.
