Just received today, and seasoned for 4 hours. When I press the off button it does not do anything. So, I just pressed off and then unplugged it. Is this correct? Thanks.

My SM150 has a RESET button, I hit that and hold until it beeps, then I hit the off switch. Works like a charm for me. Does yours have the RESET, try that and then OFF... You'll probably be smart to read the manual. Most manuals are also online.

Thanks, not sure it has reset button. Yes, I read the manual, however, maybe I overlooked something, and I will look check out. Will be cooking boston butt this week-end.

You should be able to press the off button while still plugged in and it will shut down the display/shut it off.
