Just got my first FEC100 with IQ4 controller. Looking for advice on how to clean the inside up after a cook. Should I oil the rack prior to cooking to keep them clean? Can I just spray soap & water on the inside and wash it down???

Also - we've all heard of a StL style rib. Is there a KC style rib? If so, how is it cut?

Thank you!!

I have heard of a SL Rib being a spare rib with the tips taken off but not the skirt. A KC rib is the same as the SL but with the skirt taken off. But most people will still refer to it as a SL rib because more people know that terminology. Heck, even I do that.

All I do is put foil down on the bottom, the heat shield, and the drip trough on the right before I use mine. This speeds up the cleanup process. Beyond that, I vacuum it out after using it and clean the racks off. Then every 2-4 months, I scrape down the sides of any excess buildup. That's it.

And yes, you can spray down the racks with vegtable oil to help in the cleanup
