Fellow Cookshackers -
First off, thanks to all of you who commented and helped on some of my earlier posts in regard to my opening a new BBQ joint. Looking forward to late April opening !

In the restaurant, I'll have a computer with internet access. I would like to have the ability to 'remotely' monitor pit temperatures, an receive e-mail notifications of pit and meat temps. Ive seen units like the 'Stoker' and 'BBQguru', but they are more for fan control to maintain temperatures - sorta overkill for what I'm looking to do. Here's what I'm hoping for:
1. 4 probes connected to a PC to monitor temps
2. A utility/software that can e-mail me temps, and perhaps a high or low temp alert

Thanks for any suggestions,
Rick

If you don't own an iPhone or iPad here's a good reason to consider one. iCelsius sells a probe that will connect to either device. The software app monitors tempsa and will send you alerts. Google iCelsius for more info.

I have no personal experience with this device but perhaps other forum members do, and can chime in with opinions.
Living here by NASA,Spacecenter, defense contractors, etc. we have engineers that enjoy a lot more time engineering than they do cooking.

We have had some that will rig units so they can share realtime cooks with friends around the country, etc.

Just being an old country cook,I don't take time from cooking to utilize them, but more power to those that do.

It took Smokin'Okie years just to teach me to one finger type-a little.

I'd go up to the FIND function at the page top and see what jumps out at you.

I'd do it,but I'm not smart enough to ask the right questions. Big Grin
