first time use temp probe went from 71 to hi withen the first hour and half of use was placed in a BB. Was removed and still read HI outside of smoaker any ideas?
Not sure why it went that high that quickly. Might want to check that it's plugged in all the way. The probe will register HI when it hits 200*.
For ribs you don't really need a probe. Read Smokin's Ribs 101 in the rib section. Use a toothpick to check for doneness, when it slides through with little to no resistance, they are done. Works every time.
thanks unplugged it and plugged it back in a couple of times also plugged it in outside the box and it went to HI within 2 minutes. Also it was used with a pork butt
