I received my new smokette on Friday, seasoned it Saturday for 6 hours and did my
first batch of babybacks on Sunday. They turned out great, thank you to all who have
posted your do's and don't's. I was never able to get the temperture in the smoker over
170 degrees in the 5 hours that it took the
5 lbs of ribs. I set the temp to 225 and placed my polder inside and closed the door.
After 2 hours the temp was only registering
170 degrees so I bumped the setting up to 250. Waited an hour and the temp was only up to 190. I then went and placed my reliable oven thermometer inside the smoker. It read the same as the polder, 190. Is it normal to have the type of temp difference or will it be heat closer to the dial setting the more that I use the smokette?? Thank You.....

Mornin',JMAN.

That doesn't sound normal.

We have had many discussions on this and it is usually suggested that you check your outlet and are you using an extension cord ?

If you open the door much,it will also affect it.

Other than that, call customer service and they will remedy the problem quickly.

Hope this helps some.
